Urban Heroes

Objective
Providing training to young people on digital identity and personal branding.
Solution
The NGO CESAL focuses on preparing at-risk youth for the job market through its Urban Heroes project, which includes a variety of training options ranging from aesthetics, gardening, and cooking to mobile phone repair and direct job placement initiatives.
The courses feature workshops addressing specific social skills or aspects critical to social and professional integration. Fundación LLYC’s volunteers contributed by conducting training sessions on digital identity and effective communication skills.
The “Digital Identity” workshop aimed to help young participants build and manage their personal brand and online reputation. Whereas the “Communication Skills and Coaching” sessions focused on teaching them to manage emotions, practice active listening, and use verbal and non-verbal language as tools for personal and professional growth.
One volunteer, Gonzalo Maldonado, took his contribution further by collaborating with his students to create a series of materials that also helped CESAL promote its work.
Impact
Empowered 172 young individuals in topics related to personal branding and digital identity. Delivered 62 hours of training sessions. Produced three video tutorials available on YouTube.
I had never participated in a program with teenagers and adults before. Having worked with the magical energy of children for some time, I’ve found that the young people at CESAL are truly remarkable. They’re a passionate generation, full of determination and eager to learn. They always strive to be helpful and maintain a positive outlook on life.
